♥ Transformational Journeys via Digital Violin (9pm)

The world's premier digital violinist, Dixon's life mission is to inspire people! And he has done so across North America, captivating audiences at intimate shows, and wowing crowds of thousands, including Burning Man, giving two TED talks/performances, plus radio and TV. Recently giving up a distinguished career to follow his dream full-time, he shows the beauty of doing something seemingly impossible, and bares his soul through his instrument in a mesmerizing one-man show unlike anything you've experienced. Dixon was classically trained from the age of 10, grew to a symphony violinist, then digital master, and now music shaman. Dixon's passionate energy will enchant, transform, and inspire you.

♥ DJZ (opening at 8pm)

Founder of BrilliantlyMad and born into the entertainment world over 30 years ago, David was blending music together on cassette tapes even before entering the dance scene in 1998. Remixing his favorites songs together live coalesces unique heartfelt styles of soulful music, leaving the dance floor with an inspiring experience. Captain Krack was his alias on the decks until 2006 when he opened up for the Greens Keepers on New Years Eve and Richie Hawtin at Sound Bar. After this highlighted year he left the Captain "wise" Krack on the performance level and shifted his focus on his initials D.J.Z. moving the music through your body, mind and soul.

Oy ye! Oy ye!

Estimable friends of the Chicago's Burning Man community, the time is nigh to again raise our glasses, and raise our eyebrows for this evening of tantalizing titillation, transcendent tomfoolery, vivacious vaudevillians and delectable delicacies of digestive daring-do!

Since 2010, the Burlesque Bake Sale has raised over $2,400 for the Bold Urban Renaissance Network's titanic do-goodery, funding local artists, community organizations, and free expression right here in our fine metropolis. Expect a resplendent night of cuisine, libation, and eye-popping entertainment, all at one of Chicago's most historic and nostalgic venues: The Speakeasy Cabaret at the Green Door Tavern.

Proceeds will go to support the Bold Urban Renaissance Network 501(c)3, which has given out over $10,000.00 in art grants and community grants since aught eight.

We are looking for burlesque performers, or anyone who is interested in volunteering to help out! Acoustic performers, magicians, and novelty acts are especially needed.

And of course, you can't have a bake sale without baked goods! These burners are veritable Olympians of the culinary arts. DO YOU have what it takes to bring home the Golden Whisk?

This year's theme is the Future/Retro - where the distant future and distant past find harmony.

To confirm that you want to participate by performing, volunteering, or bringing a baked good for auction, contact your host: downtowndave23 AT gmail DOT com.

See you there!

Downtown Dave presents The Speakeasy Cabaret

THREE QUESTIONS:

1) Do you like to soak your feet in warm buckets of joy and laughter?

2) Do you lavish in the thrill of smothering yourself with gobs of congealed happiness?

3) And are you gonna be at Lakes of Fire?

If the answer to Question #3 is yes; AND if the answer to at least one of the first two questions is anything other than an emphatic no; then you really need to take yourself to the Firetown Stage at 6:45 on Friday, at Lakes of Fire.

That's where Downtown Dave & his Friends from the Speakeasy Cabaret will be spooning out heaping helpings of emulsified smiles and sugar-sauce all over your sweet asses.

And honey, it's gonna be glorious.

Oh and polio. They had that back then, too.

The Swell-Time Cabaret is located at the Speakeasy, in the basement of the historic Green Door Tavern. One of Chicago's most historic bars, the Green Door features great drink specials to compliment their already reasonable prices, and some of the best pub grub you'll find in the city.

The Green Door is located at 678 N. Orleans, on the corner of Huron and Orleans, just north of downtown, and just a couple of blocks from the Chicago Brown Line Stop.
